Disposable E-Cigarettes Account For Nearly 40% Of The Global E-Cigarette Market

The global share of disposable e-cigarettes accounts for nearly 40 percent of the e-cigarette industry, according to a new analysis by e-cigarette market research firm ECigIntelligence.

After an initial boom in the U.S., the disposable e-cigarette market is now growing at a faster rate in other countries, the agency said. Consumers are attracted to disposable e-cigarettes mainly because of the ease of use and low price.

The growth of the disposable e-cigarette market varies from place to place due to policy reasons in different countries. For example, the number of disposable e-cigarettes has increased more in non-TPD countries due to the EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) restrictions on the amount of tobacco oil in e-cigarette products. On the other hand, the number of zero-nicotine products has increased in some TPD markets, as zero-nicotine products are allowed to have a larger capacity.

Another noteworthy recent trend in the disposable e-cigarette market is the emergence of a growing number of products that address the environmental concerns associated with disposable e-cigarettes, such as products made primarily of paper, or products containing biodegradable components.
